What is a CMS?
CMS stands for Content management system.  It is a system that gives the site owner or administrator the ability to make any number of updates and site changes themselves that would other wise be done by the web studio or developer. 

Why is it good to have a CMS? 
A CMS gives the client control over the management of their site's content.  In order to make simple site updates, the client will not have to go through the process of preparing the new content and then describing to a third party what they would like done.  The client simply accesses the CMS and makes changes easily themselves, thus saving time and money.

What does a Content management system (CMS) allow you to do?
A CMS can be customized to allow the client to do any number of functions. 

The most common tasks it allows the client to do are:

  • Make content changes
  • Upload images, animations & video files to a content page / gallery

What can a CMS not do?
